“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,” – Ephesians 6:13-17 (ESV)
Each and every day, our hearts and minds are tempted and assaulted by the broken nature of the world we live in. To combat this onslaught, it’s vital that we “armor up” in the resources that God has Blessed us with; firmly defending that which we’ve given over to Christ.
Hi, I’m Phil Malmstrom, a.k.a. Phather Phil. I’m self-employed, father of two wonderful young men, an ordained minister who delights in spreading Jesus’ Message of Hope and Love, a science-fiction junkie, an aspiring photographer and above all that one of God’s Children who rejoices in His Blessings each day.

Great encouragement! I need the armor of God each and every day. Can’t imagine going through this crazy world without it.
Interesting the word that jumped out to me in this verse was the “whole” armor. I think I try to combat the evil one only partially dressed. LOL No wonder I get defeated. Thanks for the lesson, PHil
Love those verses and the reminder to “armor up” in Him. So thankful that He provided us with such an armor. Blessings!
Phil,
My thoughts have been assaulting me lately and sometimes it is just easier to give in them but I know that giving into them only leads to more defeat, thank you for this wonderful encouragement today, that if I take up the whole armor of God that He will protect me.
Blessings to you Phil.
We battle first for our minds. And this week God has reminded me of His contingent Word,
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Oh, does our land need healing! Will you agree with me in prayer, Phil, that the electorate will be guided by His hand? God has prompted me to pray on my knees (that humbling stance) for 10-15 minutes a day in intercession for our wayward nation. Will anyone join me?
