Dear Lord; Good morning Father! Well Lord, based on the weather forecast it looks like we’re going to get hit with a good bit of snow over the next day or so. We’ve got sleet and rain now, to soon be followed by piles of the white stuff apparently.
I have mixed emotions about this kind of weather Lord. On one hand it’s a beautiful, cleansing white blanket laid over everything. It brings to mind thoughts of purity, and visually a fresh snowfall is one of my favorite sights to behold.
On the other side of the coin, snowstorms make traveling more dangerous, can cause people to sustain injuries and make it difficult for the business community to function. It’s not uncommon for power to be interrupted from weather-based damage, and those who are shut-in can easily become isolated from necessary services. For many, snowy weather brings on nothing but feelings of fear and frustration.
Recently, another blogger posted on her site after a snowfall that it reminded her of You. She said : “We come to Him dirty with all our messes and past mistakes and He washes us white as snow.“ I love this analogy, and plan to focus on that thought when it starts falling. Thank you for the perspective Lisa. 🙂
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Care and Spiritual Cleansing You bring to us each day. Please comfort those who are fearing the oncoming conditions, and let them feel the warmth of Your Protection. Help us all focus on the newness, and the beauty of this earthly blanket and not on the negatives that can cloud our vision. Amen.

Hi, I’m Phil Malmstrom, a.k.a. Phather Phil. I’m self-employed, father of two wonderful young men, an ordained minister who delights in spreading Jesus’ Message of Hope and Love, a science-fiction junkie, an aspiring photographer and above all that one of God’s Children who rejoices in His Blessings each day.

I loved Lisa’s perspective on that too. Enjoy His cleansing and be safe and warm! Have a blessed day in the Lord!
Thank you Heidi! Well, we only ended up getting a bit over four inches where we are but North of us was much heavier (9+ inches). Shannon and the kids get a relaxing day off though, so it all works out!
Have a Blessed Day!
I think that snow is beautiful and makes everything look pure. And i love Lisa’s post on how it made her think of Christ. However, I think snow needs to only be a Christmas thing. 😉
Please stay safe during the snow storm. Praying for you all! Blessings
I loved it too Jenifer. One of the best things about reading the blogs I do each day (including yours) is the wonderful perspectives that I might not have had otherwise.
Have a Blessed Day!
I love the snow! But I don’t have to travel in it – I can just sit inside my warm house and admire it. 🙂
Enjoy the snow and focus on God’s amazing love.
I love it too Lisa, and I very much liked your analogy as well. 🙂
Have a Blessed Day!
We just had a big storm a few weeks ago…I’m glad it’s gone now, but it was an awesome reminder of His glory…
This one ended up just being a smaller one for us Allison, but enough so Shannon and the boys get a nice relaxing day off. 🙂
Have a Blessed Day!
