Dear Lord; Good morning Father. I want to start today by thanking You for being such a good listener. I feel like I’ve been talking Your Ears off the last day or so, and while my heart is still troubled by earthly worries, laying them out to You does worlds of good for my sense of Hope. I keep hearing You telling me to let go and find rest in Your Love, and I’m trying to Lord… but these fears have a true grip on me at the moment.
Searching for focus in You today, I found some comfort in verses from the Book of Matthew :
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” – Matthew 6:25-27 (NIV)
Verse 27 really grabbed me Father. “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Wow… I guess I need to take a step back and Accept that. (Ok… There’s that word again. I get it.) Then a little further on in the chapter, Verse 34 says :
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Such a simple truth, and yet I somehow haven’t been able to see it through my inner clouding. I have my focus now Father.
Thank You for leading me to Matthew today Lord, and for staying by my side through these trials. Only in Your Loving Hands can my heavy heart be whole. Amen.

I love that God is right there by our side. Even when we are filled with worry or pain, He does not leave us. We just have to learn to give that worry and pain to Him. Great verses in Matthew and great post!
Blessings!
Absolutely Jenifer! Thank you!
Have a Blessed Day!
I found myself worrying today too, so I am encouraged here today! He is the best listener and never tires of our worries and concerns. I love how we can’t help but be encouraged and have our focus restored by merely reading His word and resting in His presence. He is an Awesome God.
He is indeed an Awesome God Heidi! I’m sorry to hear you’ve been in the worry-world as well, but I’m thankful that you’re feeling encouraged by His Word and Presence!
Have a Blessed Day!
Don’t we all battle with worry? But like it says in Matthew, we can’t change a thing by worrying. We need to turn to God and find comfort in the fact that He is always in control.
We absolutely do Lisa, but thankfully we have Him with us throughout our trials. Those verses from Matthew just spoke to me so strongly!
Have a Blessed Day!
I’m a closet worrier so these verses mean alot to me too! Have a worry free day 🙂
Thank you Allison, you do the same!
Have a Blessed Day!
I am so learning that tomorrow will take care of itself. That is a hard lesson for me because I can get caught up about things that are pressing me. But I thank God for His word and for giving me a husband who is truly a man of God for he always tell me baby don’t worry about tomorrow, at first I would be upset because I could not understand that he would not let it shake him but then the Lord reminded me that your husband I gave you is your helper and the both of you compliment each other in your faith. It’s amazing how God puts those little things that concern me into perspective.
Thanks for the comment Desiray! I’m right there with you… It can be very easy to get misdirected to focusing on worldly problems instead of serving His Will and listening to His Voice.
Have a Blessed Day!
