Trust isn’t easy. As we live our lives, finding people we can place our trust in can be a difficult and sometimes painful process. However, when we place our full faith and trust in God and allow Him to guide our hearts when making those connections, the result is stronger relationships that glorify Him as well.

Good thoughts, Phil. Your title struck me: Trust begins with God. It is not entirety OUR trust, our possession. like all gifts = trust also comes from Him. Lately God seems to be reminding me He has already given me all that I need – and that includes enough trust – I just have to place it into the right hands.

Great post! I was able to preach at church yesterday, and one if the points I made was that we need to put our faith and trust in God and not other people. Because we are all fools compared to the wisdom of God.
Oh, I do love these Scripture verses from Psalms! They are so heart-felt and tender. It doesn’t matter whether they are full of tenderness and love or bitterness and weeping—they are so full of “real” feelings. TRUST–a big word that we use easily, but is really hard to come by. You’re right–It’s difficult to trust another person, but I have learned that our complete trust must begin with the Lord, which will lead us to discernment in who to trust. Sometimes, I think we put too much trust in people. After all, they are just like ourselves: sinners striving to become less sinful and better followers of Christ. And, I can’t imagine trusting someone who is not a follower of Christ. If we think long and hard about our shortcomings, we will realize that it takes a lot of hard work to be a trustworthy person–you have to deny yourself a great deal and look-out for others more than yourself. Let’s teach others how to become more trustworthy by following the model the Lord gave us. Although we may fail or fall short, sometimes, we just have to keep on striving.
