“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” – Romans 8:14-17 (ESV)
We, as followers of Christ and our Heavenly Father’s beloved children, are significant; we matter. When we are one with Christ Jesus and have begun a new life in Him, we no longer are slaves to our sinful natures, but instead can place all due effort into our daily trials knowing our Heavenly Family is by our side.

Phil,
This seems to be a common thread this morning, I have been struggling with believing that I am significant, that I matter. It something to be worked on, in this world I may not matter much, but in the eyes of our Heavenly Father, we are all significant, we all matter, we are all loved, we matter in the eyes of Jesus, that is all that is really important anyway.
Blessings to you Phil.
We matter. So simple yet often so hard to grasp. Great encouragement.
I paused at the same word, Jenifer did in the other comments: We matter. Interesting how that phrase dives right into the issue, our basic need – we DO matter to God. wow powerful and encouraging!
We matter enough to God for Him to send His Son to redeem us. We are no longer slaves; we have been set free. Amen!
I echo the comments already made. Your statement “we matter” says it all! You have a gift for getting to the nitty gritty, Phil. Thanks so much for sharing what is on your heart. It always warms ours.
Blessings!
Pam
