Dear Lord; Happy Friday Father!
Whew… What a week it’s been Lord. Between a hectic schedule at my office, my visit to Kay’s Kamp and a myriad of other “life” events (getting new tires for the car, dealing with ill dogs, etc..), I’m quite ready for the weekend to begin. That being said Father, even with the fast-paced nature of the past few days I’ve had a very deep sense of Your Presence this week. That embodiment of peace in my Spirit has helped keep me focused, calm and joyful throughout, and for that I thank You.
To close out the week Lord, I’d like to share a song that’s been in my head as of late. It’s actually a song that’s been out for quite some time, but when I heard this rendition it was like hearing it for the first time. The song is called “Bless the Broken Road”, and this recording is by the group Selah :
Such a haunting performance, and a powerful message Father. 🙂
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your overwhelming presence in my life this past week. The more I open my heart to Your Voice, the more I realize that it’s been there all along. I pray that with Your guidance we’re all able to traverse life’s broken roads, and find our way into Your Loving Arms.
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen.
~Phather Phil

Hi, I’m Phil Malmstrom, a.k.a. Phather Phil. I’m self-employed, father of two wonderful young men, an ordained minister who delights in spreading Jesus’ Message of Hope and Love, a science-fiction junkie, an aspiring photographer and above all that one of God’s Children who rejoices in His Blessings each day.

I like this song, but had never heard it by Selah. Love it. It has been quite a week and I am also ready for the weekend. Have a blessed weekend Phil!
Thank you Jenifer! I just loved this version when I heard it, and wanted to share. 🙂
Have a Blessed Day!
Beautiful…may your weekend be blessed!
Thank you Alida! I hope your weekend was Blessed as well!
Have a Blessed Day!
We’ve had a busy week here too. Seems like every time we thought we had our plans all laid out something would come up and send us rushing around to get everything done. But God has been speaking to me through it all. His calming presence in the midst of the chaos. 🙂 Have a great, relaxing weekend, Phil!
Isn’t it wonderful when He feels that close-by Lisa? 🙂
I hope you got that relaxing weekend!
Have a Blessed Day!
have a great weekend Phil…Our Lord can do allot with our brokeness
Thank you Desiray! He can indeed!
Have a Blessed Day!
Broken Road is a favorite of this Methodist pastor. After my wife Merry died from ovarian cancer at just 55, I went through some very dark nights of the soul.
Finally I realized how much I needed just the right wife in my life: one that God would choose! But I became impatient with God & tried to rush things. Through hurts and more brokenness God seemed to bring me to a friendship with my new wife Marty. The Broken Road became one of our songs, and we know that God brought us together with a special love for this season.
Thank you George, and welcome!
It’s wonderful that God knows exactly what our needs are, and when we’re able to “get out of His way” and let Him guide our path it always leads to what’s best in our lives. Thank you for sharing your story, and for coming by! I hope to see more of your input. 🙂
Have a Blessed Day!
Love this song!! It is a reminder of how He is with us,even when our path is broken!
Amen Allison! Sometimes God uses those broken roads to draw us to His side, we just need to trust Him.
Have a Blessed Day!
In the 90’s we (my husband and I and two friends) had a Christian group called Selah. Of course we stole the name from the Bible. My husband says this group swiped our name! Of course you can’t copyright a Bible term 🙂
My daughter Abi listened to this with me on Friday and said, “Hey, they ripped off Rascal Flatts! Poor Selah 🙁
LOL! Thank you for the smile Debra! I would have loved to hear you sing. 🙂
Have a Blessed Day!
Greetings from Australia, The Land of Oz,
You blessed my soul with this today. I am speechless. Thank you.
Thank you for visiting, and welcome! I took a quick look at your blog, and loved the photos! I’m hoping to get some time to go back later on and read more about you. 🙂
Have a Blessed Day!
