Emails to God
Each weekday I transpose and share the whispers and messages God places on my heart in the form of “Emails to God”.
Prayers for Jonathan While He’s Away…
Dear Lord; Today Lord, my thoughts and wishes fly to my son Jonathan as he heads off on an overnight school field trip. Now, he’s been away from home before but for some reason I still worry about him every time he goes off on a new adventure. Although You continue to bless us with the continued remission from his Langerhans, I still tend to be a bit on the over-protective side where he’s concerned. Please keep him in Your Loving Embrace throughout his trip, and see him safely home to his Mother and I. Amen. ~Phather Phil

Dear Lord; It’s often said that we’re our own worst critics. I know in my case, that’s usually true. With the times we live in it seems we’re constantly deluged with negative information from all sides, which can make even the strongest of us start to feel overwhelmed and beaten. Once that happens, our day-to-day tasks take on a whole new perspective, and self-doubt can creep in. Please help us focus on the positives in our lives, and to see our daily trials for what they truly are. Raise Your Blessings in our hearts and...
read moreA Search for Happiness…
Dear Lord; Yesterday, a FaceBook posting from a good friend started the wheels in my head turning. It said: “Happiness is a CHOICE”. While seemingly obvious, it’s really not. We all strive to be happy in this life, however in many cases that endeavor takes us directions that really don’t bring us any closer to it. Please help guide each of us to that Path of Inner Peace, so we can focus on what true Happiness really is. Amen. ~Phather Phil

Dear Lord; Yesterday the Family and I went for a long walk in Blackbird State Forest. It was a beautiful day, and we spent the time collecting nature items for Shannon’s students and taking photos of the bountiful life around us. In that serene, magnificent setting in the company of those I love, I felt Your Presence all around me, and knew I was truly Blessed. Amen. ~Phather Phil

Dear Lord; My prayers this morning are focused on a good friend who was in a car accident today. Please help Heal his body and spirit, and provide Loving Comfort to his family throughout this ordeal. Amen. ~Phather Phil

Dear Lord; Today my thoughts and prayers go out to some friends who have been dealing with a number of emotionally charged situations as of late. These are very good people, and they’re very much in need of a break. Please wrap these people in Your Loving Arms, and give them Comfort knowing that You’re with them. Amen. ~Phather Phil

Dear Lord; Last night, I received the nicest complement yet on my Phather Phil blog. My son Jonathan heard me talking about the site, and asked what it was about. I told him, and he asked if he could read it. He spent the next half-hour pouring through the year’s entries and happily announced “That’s really cool! I have a Dad that emails God.”. I’m still smiling about it today. Amen. ~Phather Phil
read moreI Hear Your Voice…
Dear Lord; As a large part of my Spiritual Journey, I’ve worked hard to leave myself open to seeing and hearing You in new ways and places. This morning, Your Voice came to me while listening to my kids singing “Don’t Stop Believin’” in the back seat on the way to school. Thank you for that morning visit, and the smile. Amen. ~Phather Phil
read moreIn the Stillness…
Dear Lord; As you know my life is generally quite noisy. Between dogs, kids, phones and the other sounds of daily life, I’m usually processing lots of auditory information all the time. I think that may be partly why I became an insomniac long ago; I do love the Stillness of the nighttime. In those quiet, calm hours I hear you best. Thank you for those moments together. Amen. ~Phather Phil
read moreDon’t Sweat the Small Stuff…
Dear Lord; Friday morning at the office started with a couple phone calls from clients who were absolutely “freaked out” due to problems with their computers. Neither were serious, and both were remedied quickly but the extreme reactions the people gave made me revisit the “it’s all little stuff” thought. Thank you for helping keep me grounded, and seeing what’s truly important. Amen. ~Phather Phil
