Emails to God
Each weekday I transpose and share the whispers and messages God places on my heart in the form of “Emails to God”.
The Power of a Dream
Dear Lord; Happy Wednesday Father! Today Father, my heart is virtually overflowing from this morning’s experience. As I mentioned last week, through the kindness of the Kaylyn Elaine Warren Foundation I had made arrangements to attend “Media Day” at Kay’s Kamp today, so I could see first-hand what this unique camp is all about. Kay’s Kamp is currently the only pediatric oncology camp in Delaware. It’s the realization of a vision held by Kaylyn Elaine Warren, who left this earth to join You in March of 2007 at the tender age of...

Dear Lord; Happy Tuesday Father! You know Father, You’ve been quite “chatty” with me as of late. I mean, I “hear” from you rather often in general; through quiet whispers on my heart, subtle “out of track” thoughts crossing my mind, and by recognizing Your guidance in the Blessings around me. Lately however, Your “nudges” have become more and more regular and in many cases, the message has been the same… “Pray for them.” Now Lord, when I see someone obviously in need of Your help, I always try to lift them up in...

Dear Lord; Happy Meditations Monday Father! First off Lord, I want to begin the week by thanking You for all the Blessings You granted us this past weekend. The medication the veterinarian put Merlin on seems to have abated the seizures, and although the effects are still taking their toll, he’s made a marked improvement. Saturday night Shannon got to go out with her mother and uncle to see a musical production of “Kiss Me Kate” held at Longwood Gardens, and the boys and I got some time to “hang out” and do some fun cooking with...

Dear Lord; Happy Friday Father! As a closing to our postings this week Lord, I’d like to offer up a few prayers if I may. As You know Father, yesterday morning for no obvious reason our beloved American Eskimo dog Merlin started having severe seizures. We’ve only seen these with him once or twice before when he was extremely stressed or anxious, such as when he was being boarded overnight or getting examined by a veterinarian. Each time prior to this, the seizures were isolated incidents, lasting only thirty seconds or so. Yesterday,...

Dear Lord; Happy Thankful Thursday Father! Well Father, this has certainly been a busy few days at phatherphil.org. The response I’ve had to our conversations this week has been quite honestly, overwhelming. I’m so thankful however, to have the Blessing of connecting with so many Brothers and Sisters in Christ this way. The opportunity I’ve been given to share Your Light and Love with others through this ministry is so precious to me, and I’m humbled and honored to do so. On that same track Lord, on we go to this week’s...

Dear Lord; Happy Wednesday Father! To start the day off Father, I want to thank You for the “nudge” You gave me yesterday regarding the email I wrote to You. As You know, I had actually started on a completely different topic but part-way through writing it, You intervened and led me to what You wanted me to post. It’s a message that’s been on my heart ever since, and I thank You for that whisper. Today, I’d like to share something that You placed in front of me this morning. It’s a letter to You written by an unknown author,...

Dear Lord; Happy Tuesday Father! Really God?? I’ve been hearing this quite a lot as of late Father, and I’ll admit I’ve even thought it myself more than once in the recent past. It’s certainly not a query intended out of disrespect Lord, but one usually born of frustration due to trials we, or someone we care about, are going through… My marriage is falling apart, and my spouse is leaving… Really God?? The job I’ve invested years of hard work and energy in is gone… Really God?? My test results came back and the cancer has...

Dear Lord; Happy Meditations Monday Father! You know Father, sometimes I think that I go to work each week to get some rest after the weekends. 🙂 Once again Lord, You Blessed us with a busy but joyful weekend. From the “Breakfast for Dinner” Friday night get-together we hosted, to hiking and taking photos with the boys and Shannon’s mother during the day on Saturday, to attending the big yearly party at my father’s home on Sunday after church, it was a wonderful couple days spent in the company of family and good friends. ...

Dear Lord; Happy Friday Father! This morning Lord, I had another one of those inspired geek moments that You grant me from time to time. I was working on a laptop PC that was in for service, with the primary customer complaint being that it was running very slowly. External malware and virus scans had come back clean, so I booted into the operating system to evaluate the situation. It was clogged to the hilt with “stuff” starting up automatically every time it booted. Now, this is something we see pretty regularly. Between the...

Dear Lord; Happy Thankful Thursday Father! Today Father, my thoughts are scattered. While I slept reasonably well (five hours or so), I awoke feeling a bit on the “cloudy” side and I haven’t been able to shake it as of yet. Funny enough however, even with my focus not being overly sharp I’ve had no problem putting together today’s Thankful Thursday Blessings list. I love the fact that even when my human frailties present themselves, Your Blessings in my life still shine through the haze. 🙂 Continuing my list from last week...
