Dear Lord; Good afternoon Father.<\/p>\n
Thank You Lord, for starting my day off so pleasantly this morning.\u00a0 I always like waking to the sound of Your Voice in my head, especially when the message is \u201cToday is a Good Day\u201d<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Well, it\u2019s just after lunchtime here now and so far it truly has been as you prepared me; A good day.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n In the beginning of the year Father, You gave me a word to focus my energies and prayers on.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t a word I would have chosen sans Your intervention, but You were quite insistent at the time as I remember so I adopted it as my own.\u00a0 The word was Accept<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Today Lord, I thought I\u2019d discuss a couple of the ways \u201cour\u201d<\/em> word choice has impacted me thus far, and presented itself in my life.<\/p>\n The beginning of \u201cThe Serenity Prayer\u201d<\/em> comes immediately to mind Father :<\/p>\n \u201cGod, grant me the serenity to Accept<\/span> the things I cannot change\u2026\u201d \u2013 Reinhold Niebuhr<\/strong><\/p>\n As You know, this has always been a rough one for me Lord.\u00a0 Many of my most significant upsets have come from situations which I have little or no control over.\u00a0 With Your help, I\u2019ve been working on this flaw in my character and I can honestly say that we\u2019ve made some progress.\u00a0 I still have more than a few stresses in my life right now, but I\u2019ve learned to better Accept<\/span><\/strong> those things which I can\u2019t fix and focus my efforts on the ones I can make positive change in.<\/p>\n Along those same lines Father, I\u2019m learning to Accept<\/span><\/strong> assistance more readily from others as well.\u00a0 I\u2019ve always prided myself (I know\u2026 another nasty word, but we\u2019re making progress on that flaw too.) on being reasonably independent, but through my journey to You I\u2019ve realized that You put us all here together for a reason.\u00a0 When I can help someone, I should but I also need to be open to Accept<\/span><\/strong>ing help from others as well.\u00a0 It\u2019s still a struggle sometimes for me to show that vulnerability, but I\u2019m happy to say that barrier is lower than it used to be.<\/p>\n Needless to say, I now understand why You chose this word for me.\u00a0 I obviously have some significant room for growth and Accept<\/span><\/strong>ance appears to be the key to much of that.<\/p>\n Heavenly Father, thank You for continuing to Guide me in Your Grace.\u00a0 I am but clay in Your Skillful Hands, eager to be molded into a form which can best serve Your Will.\u00a0 Amen.<\/p>\n ~Phather Phil<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Dear Lord; Good afternoon Father.
