Happy Wednesday Father!<\/p>\n<p>Over the past couple weeks Father, I\u2019ve been listening to and enjoying a sermon series called <a title=\"Elevation Church - Times and Seasons\" href=\"http:\/\/elevationchurch.org\/sermons\/times-and-seasons\" target=\"_blank\"><i>\u201cTimes and Seasons\u201d<\/i> <\/a>preached by <a title=\"Pastor Steven Furtick\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stevenfurtick.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Steven Furtick<\/a>, the lead pastor over at Elevation Church.\u00a0 It\u2019s been a powerful series for me so far Lord, and has touched on some areas of my life that are very raw right this moment.\u00a0 This morning as I pondered the most recent message I\u2019d listened to, You placed on my heart a guest post I wrote for <a title=\"Healthy Spirituality - Growing Closer to God\" href=\"http:\/\/healthyspirituality.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Healthy Spirituality<\/a> a couple years back.\u00a0 I chased down the document containing the post, and as I reread the words You\u2019d given me during a very different season of my life it dawned on me that even now, <b>Your Promise<\/b> still holds true\u2026<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\">The Promise<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b><i>Stark\u2026<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Cold\u2026<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Bleak\u2026<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Unyielding\u2026<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Such is the way many choose to view the winter landscape.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>And yet,<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>I believe that winter carries with it a deeper message;<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>A Promise from God.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>I absolutely love taking long, quiet walks in the woods; spending that communion time with my Heavenly Father, surrounded in the majesty of His bounty.\u00a0 In that Stillness, I find that I feel powerfully connected to God\u2019s presence, and He\u2019s used those moments of intimacy to bring me some wonderful revelations.<\/p>\n<p>I try to visit our local forest as often as possible, even during the <i>\u201cless comfortable\u201d<\/i> seasons. \u00a0Seeing the many transitions and phases of God\u2019s creation never fails to unveil new truths to me, and whatever the conditions are I always come away feeling Blessed for my time there\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Even in the dead of winter.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Hmmm\u2026 The \u201cdead\u201d of winter\u2026<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Not a very accurate description in my opinion.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I actually enjoy walking through the woods in the winter months.\u00a0 Strolling among the leafless timbers, the barren landscape lies in stark contrast to the lush foliage that normally fills the scene.\u00a0 And yet, while first impressions are that all life has left this place, nothing could be further from the truth\u2026<\/p>\n<p><i>Life still resides here\u2026<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Waiting\u2026<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Promising to burst forth and begin anew with the breath of spring\u2026<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Just as God designed it to.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>And Funny enough, He designed our lives that way as well.\u00a0 Like that forest, our paths are bound to the seasons God lays out for us\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cFor everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>a time to be born, and a time to die;<\/b><b><br \/>\na time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;<br \/>\na time to kill, and a time to heal;<br \/>\na time to break down, and a time to build up;<br \/>\na time to weep, and a time to laugh;<br \/>\na time to mourn, and a time to dance;<br \/>\na time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;<br \/>\na time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;<br \/>\na time to seek, and a time to lose;<br \/>\na time to keep, and a time to cast away;<br \/>\na time to tear, and a time to sew;<br \/>\na time to keep silence, and a time to speak;<br \/>\na time to love, and a time to hate;<br \/>\na time<\/b><b> for war, and a time for peace.\u201d \u2013 Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (ESV)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Times of abundance, and periods of trial;
