{"id":2379,"date":"2013-08-01T17:09:21","date_gmt":"2013-08-01T21:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phatherphil.org\/?p=2379"},"modified":"2013-08-01T17:09:21","modified_gmt":"2013-08-01T21:09:21","slug":"today-and-every-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phatherphil.org\/?p=2379","title":{"rendered":"Today and Every Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Lord; Happy Thursday Father!<\/p>\n<p><b><i>It\u2019s unfair.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>How many times have I felt this way Lord\u2026<\/p>\n<p><i>How many times?<\/i><\/p>\n<p>When its seemed as if the problems and struggles of this life were threatening to engulf me, how many times have I cried out to You\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u201cWhy Father?!?\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u201cWhy\u2026\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>And in those anxious moments as my heart flitters on the edge of despair, dark questions flood to mind seeking to pull me from the anchor of my faith.<\/p>\n<p>Such was the case this morning as I made my way towards the office; contemplating the situations that I knew awaited me just down the road and fervently petitioning You for aid and guidance.\u00a0 Awash in a sea of concerns, my thoughts aimed to betray Your peace as my heart fought to regain it\u2019s footing in Truth.<\/p>\n<p>And somewhere in the midst of that flustered conversation Lord, I heard Your small, still voice whisper<\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u201cListen\u2026\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>And a new song started playing on the radio\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KbMLoFetHrg?rel=0\" height=\"338\" width=\"601\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cWho told us we&#8217;d be rescued?<br \/>\nWhat has changed and why should we be saved from nightmares?<br \/>\nWe&#8217;re asking why this happens<br \/>\nTo us who have died to live?<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s unfair\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d heard these lyrics sung many times before Father, but this morning through Your prompting I allowed the powerful truth in these verses to answer my need\u2026<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cThis is what it means to be held<br \/>\nHow it feels when the sacred is torn from your life<br \/>\nAnd you survive<br \/>\nThis is what it is to be loved<br \/>\nAnd to know that the promise was<br \/>\nWhen everything fell we&#8217;d be held.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>In spending my energies to focus on my struggles and allowing frustrations to cloud my thoughts, I was missing the bigger picture\u2026<\/p>\n<p><i>Through all of my nightmares and all of my trials, You\u2019ve always been there\u2026<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Holding me when my world seemed most fragile\u2026<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b><i>And today would be no different.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>So thank You Lord, for holding true to Your loving promise,<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Today and every day.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Amen.<\/p>\n<p>~Phather Phil<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/pin\/create\/button\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.phatherphil.org%2F%3Fp%3D2379&media=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.phatherphil.org%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2011%2F05%2FMan-on-Bench-Praying-1-Cropped.jpg&description=Inspirations+from+Phather+Phil+-+Today+and+Every+Day\" class=\"pin-it-button\" count-layout=\"horizontal\">Pin It<\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Lord; Happy Thursday Father!
