Dear Lord; Happy Meditations Monday Father!<\/p>\n
Good morning Father!\u00a0 To begin the week\u2019s conversations Lord, I want to first thank You for the many Blessings You graced me with this past weekend.\u00a0 Although I spent much of the past few days resting in an attempt to fend off the nasty respiratory illness I picked up last week, Your influence was obvious nonetheless.\u00a0 During that unusual bout of \u201cdown time\u201d<\/em>, I was able to spend a good bit of quiet time with Jonathan and Aidan, made some progress on the redesign of Ewell\u2019s St. Paul\u2019s web site<\/a>, and even managed to get out with Shannon for a little bit as well.\u00a0 And while I\u2019m still not completely recovered from this invasive little bug Father, I want to thank You for Your comforting, soothing and healing presence while my body holds the line against these invaders.\u00a0 You are truly ever-faithful Lord, and I thank You for remaining by my side no matter the circumstances.<\/p>\n Driving in to work this morning, I was confronted with something I seldom run into in this area; pea-soup thick fog.\u00a0 Now, we certainly get our share of morning \u201cmist\u201d<\/em> around here, but this was some of the heaviest fog I believe I\u2019ve ever seen in central Delaware.\u00a0 Visibility was minimal, with only a 30 foot-or-so view in front of the truck before the milky haze completely enveloped the road ahead.\u00a0 Nervously gripping the wheel, I slowed from my usual morning pace, peering cautiously into the haze as I drove.\u00a0 I was anxious, and the trip to work seemed to go on for ages.<\/p>\n Then I realized\u2026 This reminds me of my life before I knew You Father.<\/p>\n I was anxious, cautious, and fearful\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Quite often I felt cut off, and alone\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The roadblocks and detours in my life often left me feeling insecure and vulnerable\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Every \u201cbump in the road\u201d became amplified, at the thought of the chasm that may lie beneath.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I lived one day at a time, never knowing what lay ahead of me\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n And then Lord, You lifted my fog from me.<\/p>\n \u201cAgain Jesus spoke to them, saying, <\/strong>“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”\u201d \u2013 John 8:12 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Your Light cut through all that haze Father, and changed my journey in so many ways.<\/p>\n My fears are now opportunities for hope\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I know that no matter where I am or what I\u2019m doing, I\u2019m never alone\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n While I still have quite a few struggles and trials in my life, I know that You desire what\u2019s best for me, and that You\u2019ll guide me down the best path\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cbumps in the road\u201d are exactly that, and are given no more importance that they\u2019re due\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Following Your light Lord, I know exactly where I\u2019m headed. \ud83d\ude42<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Heavenly Father,<\/p>\n As we begin our week together Lord, I lift to You my thanks and praise for all You bring to our lives each day.\u00a0 Please continue to light the path through the fog that shrouds our earthly journeys, diligently searching us out as the mists of this world threaten to engulf us.\u00a0 Guide us down that path Lord, and lead us home.<\/p>\n In Jesus\u2019 Name we pray,<\/p>\n Amen.<\/p>\n ~Phather Phil<\/p>\nPin It<\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
