{"id":1433,"date":"2011-10-05T14:49:34","date_gmt":"2011-10-05T18:49:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phatherphil.org\/?p=1433"},"modified":"2011-10-06T10:53:01","modified_gmt":"2011-10-06T14:53:01","slug":"death-has-no-sting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phatherphil.org\/?p=1433","title":{"rendered":"Death Has No Sting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Lord; Happy Wednesday Father!<\/p>\n<p>Last night Father, as I was preparing to shut down and head to bed for the night, a message appeared on my Facebook wall that made me pause, and then to pray.<\/p>\n<p>On August 15, I wrote to you regarding an <a title=\"Meditations Monday: Our Darkest Hour\" href=\"http:\/\/www.phatherphil.org\/?p=1265\" target=\"_blank\">inspiring story of faith<\/a> I\u2019d heard on <a title=\"88.7 The Bridge Contemporary Christian Radio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.887thebridge.com\" target=\"_blank\">88.7 The Bridge<\/a> on my way to work that morning.\u00a0 It described the Baptism of Kim Miller; a young lady dealing with terminal cancer, who instead of dwelling on the terrifying and painful nature of her situation, chose to give thanks and praise for Your Blessings in her life.\u00a0 The church she attends made a video of her powerful testimony, which was then shared on the radio that morning.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/27694618\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"599\" height=\"337\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Following that conversation Father, I emailed Kim on Facebook to let her know that her story had touched me, and that I was praying for her.\u00a0 We ended up <em>\u201cfriending\u201d<\/em>, and I\u2019ve been following her journey since.<\/p>\n<p>Last night, the message came across my screen that Kim had gone home\u2026 Into Your waiting arms Lord.\u00a0 And while my spirit aches knowing the hole this undoubtedly leaves in her family\u2019s hearts, I\u2019m rejoicing in the knowledge that she\u2019s arrived in the one place where her pain and troubles are surely at an end.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: &#8220;Death has been swallowed up in victory.&#8221;<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Where, O death, is your victory?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Where, O death, is your sting?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God!
