Dear Lord; Happy Tuesday Father!<\/p>\n
First off Father, I want to raise Kim Miller<\/a> up in prayer to You once again.\u00a0 Her powerful testimony in the video I linked to<\/a> in yesterday\u2019s post<\/a> has very much been in my thoughts, and continues to inspire further introspection of my own Faith.\u00a0 Lord, please grant Kim Your peace, Your comfort and if it be Your Will, Your healing that she may continue to know Your abundant presence in her life.<\/p>\n Today Father, I\u2019d like to discuss manners and courtesy, or more specifically the lack of them I\u2019ve been seeing as of late.<\/p>\n During a quick trip at lunchtime over to the nearby WalMart, I was confronted a number of times with blatant examples of selfishness, disrespect and a general disinterest in the feelings of others.\u00a0 Simple little things like:<\/p>\n In a busy parking lot, taking up two full spaces to avoid being parked next to\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n People not looking behind them when going through a door to see if someone is following close by before letting it swing closed\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Shoppers standing in the middle of a narrow aisle chatting while people and carts sit behind them waiting for them to move\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Parents allowing their young children to run around unsupervised and then getting upset when other people question them\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Leaving shopping carts rolling all over the parking lot when there are plenty of cart return stations nearby\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It\u2019s very frustrating to witness such widespread disregard Father.\u00a0 And while I certainly ran into several smiling, courteous folks today as well, they were somehow less obvious than those whose focus was very much on themselves.\u00a0 Now, I\u2019ve absolutely been guilty of allowing my mood to sidetrack my manners now and again Lord\u2026 I believe we all have.\u00a0 This begs the question; how would You have us act towards others so as to best reflect Your Love?<\/p>\n With forgiveness and compassion:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cBe kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.\u201d \u2013 Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n With thought and empathy:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cDo to others as you would have them do to you.\u201d \u2013 Luke 6:31 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n In the spirit of peace and unity:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cLet us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.\u201d \u2013 Romans 14:19 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n With humility:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cFor all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” \u2013 Luke 14:11 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n And with Love:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cFor the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”\u201d \u2013 Galatians 5:14 (NIV)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n It\u2019s so handy having Your Instruction Manual Father.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Heavenly Father, please help guide our words and actions to best exemplify the behavior that You desire of us.\u00a0 Make Your light visible through our lives, so that others may witness the peace and compassion of Your presence in us.<\/p>\n In Jesus\u2019 Name we pray,<\/p>\n Amen.<\/p>\n ~Phather Phil<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Dear Lord; Happy Tuesday Father!
