Dear Lord; Happy Friday Father!<\/p>\n

Well Father, we come again to the end of yet another work-week and I\u2019ll admit to being excited this time.\u00a0 Tomorrow morning, my family and I leave for a week\u2019s vacation at Chestnut Grove Resort in the Pocono Mountains<\/a>.\u00a0 The kids love it there Lord, and I\u2019ve found that it\u2019s someplace that I can truly relax and spend quiet, meditative time in Your Presence.\u00a0 As Internet connectivity is quite limited, I don\u2019t expect to be able to post our conversations every day, but hope to be able to at least a couple times over the course of the week.\u00a0 Funny enough, it makes perfect sense that in places where my connections to the world are more limited, my connection to You opens up wider.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

In preparation for our time away, I spent some time yesterday picking out new books to read, and music to travel by.\u00a0 For reading material (other than my trusty YouVersion.com<\/a> Bible App on my Android tablet), I have \u201cHeaven is Real\u201d<\/em><\/a> written by Don Piper, and \u201cJust Too Busy: Taking your Family on a Radical Sabbatical\u201d<\/em><\/a> by Joanne Kraft (Thanks so much Elaine!).\u00a0 As for music, while my iPod is already quite loaded with inspiring songs, I just had to add the albums \u201cBlessings\u201d<\/em><\/a> by Laura Story, and \u201cOn Fire\u201d<\/em><\/a> from Peter Furler to the mix.\u00a0 Peter\u2019s song \u201cReach\u201d<\/em> has been running through my head a lot the last couple weeks, so I\u2019m excited to have the rest of his solo premier album to enjoy as well\u2026<\/p>\n

While we\u2019re up there, we\u2019ve also been invited by friends of ours to attend services at Pocono Community Church<\/a>.\u00a0 From what they tell us, it\u2019s a wonderful House of Worship and we\u2019re very much looking forward to hearing the Pastor\u2019s message on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

Heavenly Father, I thank You for all the Blessings You\u2019ve bestowed on us this week, and for Your abundant Presence in our lives each day.\u00a0 I look forward with anticipation to spending communal time with You this coming week, and pray that You\u2019ll keep us in Your Loving Embrace as we venture away from home.\u00a0 Amen.<\/p>\n
